WELCOME TO THE ANNUAL TURKEY TROT IN SOUTH ASHEVILLE, NC!
We are thankful you’re here! Thank you for signing up for the South Asheville Turkey Trot p/b Hunter Subaru in Biltmore Park Town Square, Asheville, North Carolina on Thanksgiving Day. We can’t wait to celebrate Thanksgiving morning with you.

RACE START
5K - 9:00 am (mass start)

8 Town Square Blvd, Biltmore Park Town Square, Asheville, NC
NOTE:
The start and finish line are in two separate locations. They are on the same street on the 8 Town Square Blvd block. The start line is near Fleet Feet Asheville. The finish line is located near the Trot Shop by Coldwell Banker.
Please note: THE COURSE IS CLOSED AT 10:30AM.
PARKING
Parking is available in all the parking decks in Biltmore Park Town Square. There is NO Parking available at the start and finish line. Nearby Handicap parking is available near Athleta, LOFT and Barnes and Noble.
Note: All runners must be parked by 8:30am on Thanksgiving Day!
RESTROOMS
Portajons are located near Clean Juice, close to the finish line.
PACKET PICKUP
#1 In-person Pre-event Packet Pick-up will take place the day before the event close to Fleet Feet Asheville in Biltmore Park Town Square.

#2 Race Day Packet Pick-up: Thursday, November 24th from 7:30-8:30am. There is no packet pickup available after 8:30am on race day.

Race Merchandise is available for purchase in the Trot Shop on Wednesday during packet pickup hours and on Thursday after the race.
Note: If you had your shirt and race number shipped, stop by packet pickup to pick up your Hunter Subaru Goody Bag after the race.
Note: All runners must be parked by 8:30am on Thanksgiving Day!
Please wear your race number on the FRONT of your shirt/pants/jacket. Do not BEND, CRUMBLE your bib numbers. We must be able to see the number throughout the race and when you cross the finish line. Race numbers that are worn under jackets or clothing may not pick-up on the timing system when you cross the finish line.
Have a friend or family member that is not registered and is planning to wait to sign up? Participants must register online on Race Roster for the race. We encourage participants to sign up in the comfort of their home on their computer, ipad, or phone prior to showing up for the race. To eliminate contact there are no paper forms or ipads available to use to complete to sign-up at packet pickup on race day. We expect the race to be sold out by race day!
Race Day
When you arrive, head over to the start/finish area and grab a cup of hot cocoa or coffee from Barebones Brewhaus coffee cart. Bring some cash!
Race Start Time: PROMPTLY at 9am
We encourage competitive runners, in contention to win overall and in your age group to line up at the front of the starting line. Overall winner times are based on gun-time. Age group participant times are based on chip-time. So when you cross the timing mat is when your race time will start and when you cross the timing mat at the finish, your time will stop. Runners will not be able to start late.
Please Note: The time limit for the course is 10:30am.
COURSE DETAILS
The race course for the South Asheville Turkey Trot takes place in Biltmore Park Town Square, Asheville, North Carolina . The course has one water stop (utilized 2x) supported by Green Moose Fuel at approx. mile 1.5 and mile 2.5.

PAY ATTENTION! Follow the signs with arrows and the course markings. Do not just ‘follow’ the person in front of you … if they are not paying attention and go the wrong direction you will too! It is up to YOU to know the course and the route you are running. Please be courteous and give high fives and thumbs up to your fellow runners and volunteers out on the course.
POST RACE
Post race snacks and water will be available near the finish line.

AWARDS
Prizes include: Pint glasses from Thirsty Monk (overall/age group), gift certificates from Fleet Feet Asheville (overall/masters) and turkeys for the overall male/female winners from Luella’s BBQ!
Check out the awards categories for this year’s events HERE. The Awards Ceremony will take place near the finish line at approximately 10:15am.
If you are an award winner but can’t stay afterwards, you can pick it up at Fleet Feet Asheville starting Friday, November 25th at 3pm or have your prize shipped directly to you by purchasing the option for $10 in the Race Store.

In it for the fun and not to win the race? The South Asheville Turkey Trot presented by Hunter Subaru features a “Best Dressed Turkey” Contest each year!
The Best Dressed in turkey-themed costumes and attire for all award categories will receive a special turkey-themed prize and the Best Dressed Overall Male Gobbler and Female Hen will also receive a free entry to next year’s race! Get the family together, grab all your turkey swag and show up to kick off this fun, annual holiday tradition as you gobble and waddle your way through Biltmore Park!

Your donations will go to the following programs/causes:
- Christmas Eve first responders care packages - will deliver these to every first responder, EMS, and law enforcement in various counties.
- Holiday program - for helping Sheep Dog families in need with a Christmas meal and donations towards children’s gifts
- Warrior PATHH for veterans and first responders - This program helps veterans and first responders struggling with PTSD through a 5 day program, followed by 18 months of online meetings and support
