PARKING

Parking is available at the Beverly Hanks Center, 600 Beverly Hanks Center, Hendersonville, NC 28792.

There is also limited parking available at Patton Park (114 E Clairmont Drive Hendersonville, NC 28791)

PACKET PICKUP

Thursday, June 15th: 11:00am - 2:00pm​ at Hunter Subaru (220 Hunter Airport Dr, Fletcher, NC 28732.)

Friday, June 16th: 4:45 - 6:30pm at Patton Park (1730 Asheville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC 28792), under the iDaph Tent, adjacent to the Bark in the Park Dog Fair near the Start/Finish line. Look for the signs and banners.

Course Information

5k:

The Bark & Bolt 5k starting and finishing at Patton Park in Hendersonville, NC is the paw-fect race for you and your pup! This course is made up of a flat, fast out and back section along the beautiful Oklawaha Greenway. It’s all on a paved surface, so no need to worry about muddy paws! Don’t be fooled though - one short, stinker of a hill will get you back to the finish line, so make sure you and your four-legged friend are ready for the challenge. With great views and plenty of spectator friendly spots along the way, this race will be ruff to resist! So grab your pup and join us - you won’t be barking up the wrong tree with this one! 

Leashed (no retractable leashes allowed), vaccinated and friendly dogs are required!

One Mile: 

The Bark & Bolt One Mile course is a perfect way to get your pup and your feet moving! Starting at Patton Park in Hendersonville, NC you can enjoy a relaxing run along the Oklawaha Greenway, which has a paved surface that will keep your pup’s paws comfy throughout. A single stinker hill awaits you on the way back to the finish line, but don’t worry - it’s the only one on the route. The rest of the way is flat and fast, making this course a treat for runners (and their furry teammates) of all ages and abilities. So leash up those tail-wagging wonders and get ready to bark and bolt through this fun one-mile adventure!

BARK IN THE PARK DOG FAIR

We’re ecstatic to be hosting the Bark in the Park Dog Fair alongside the Bark & Bolt event, and you are woofingly welcome to join us! The fair will be located in the field at Patton Park, near the Start/Finish Line and will run from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. With so many pup-sitively pet-friendly vendors, this is sure to be a tail-wagging event for all.

RACE FOR A CAUSE

We are thrilled to partner with the Blue Ridge Humane Society! Proceeds from the event will be used to  ensure the highest quality of life for animals in Henderson County and our neighboring communities through adoption, outreach, and education.

You can support the Blue Ridge Humane Society by donating through your registration or through their fundraising page HERE.

POST RACE

Post race snacks and water will be available near the finish line.

 

RESULTS

Online results will be available LIVE throughout the race HERE.

AWARDS

There will be an awards ceremony for Overall Winners at 7:45pm at the finish line.

Age group awards may be picked up at the Merchandise Tent at the conclusion of the awards ceremony.

Awards may also be picked up at Fleet Feet Asheville, beginning Tuesday after the event, after 3pm, or shipped by purchasing the option in the Race Store.

SAFETY INFORMATION

These guidelines MUST be followed to ensure the safety of all participants and their furry friends.

 

  • Please only bring dog-friendly pets. This event is for well-behaved humans and dogs only! If your Fido is not friendly please leave him/her at home.
  • Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Please refrain from bringing retractable leashes as they are a tripping hazard.
  • Dog Owners are 100% liable for the actions of their dogs while attending the event and in the designated areas of the start/finish area. Race officials have sole discretion to ask a participant to leave the event with their dog at any time. There will be no refunds in this case.
  • All dogs should be up-to-date on vaccines including the rabies vaccine.
  • Please bring your own poop bags and clean up after pets.
  • We will provide some dog bowls and dog swimming pools for drinking/wading. However, we suggest you bring your own dog bowls or purchase one from a vendor at the event.
