We can’t wait to see you on Sunday afternoon for the 30th Annual Frostbite Races presented by Hunter Subaru at the Lelia Patterson Center in Fletcher, NC!

Race Start: Sunday, February 20, 2022
All the races start and finish beside the Lelia Patterson Center. The address is 1111 Howard Gap Rd., Fletcher, NC 28732.
- 1:35pm warm-ups at the start line led by Asheville Personal Training
- 1:45pm // One Mile Fun Run (mass start race)
- 2:20pm warm-ups at the start line led by Asheville Personal Training
- 2:30pm // 5k + 10k (mass start race)
If you need to switch your race distance from the 10k to the 5k or vice versa please email support@idaph.net. If you switch during the race, you will be disqualfied and it could effect the overall and age group awards and standings. We urge you to please change your race distance BEFORE you start the races.
Note: The races are a mass start style race. If you are late for your start time for the one mile, 5k and 10k races you will not be permitted to start the event.
Packet Pick-up
- Friday, February 18th from NOON until 2pm at the Lelia Patterson Center, Fletcher, NC. - Drive thru, style! No need to get out of your car. Look for signs and stay in your vehicle.
- Sunday, February 20th (race day) 12:30 - 2:15 PM - at the Leila Patterson Center
VERY IMPORTANT: Have your race number pinned on the FRONT of your shirt/outer layer! We must be able to see your race number at all times. If your race number is underneath a jacket, your time may not register on our timing system.

Parking
The closest parking option for race day is the Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church at 1141 Howard Gap Road. It is next door to the Lelia Patterson Center. The Lelia Patterson Center parking is reserved for their fitness center members on race day. Overflow parking is available across the street from the AdventHealth Hospital on Naples Drive. Outdoor Wellness Expo
In order to continue to practice safe gatherings, the wellness expo will be moved outdoors for this year’s event. Vendors will set up tents near the start and finish areas. Bring some cash!
Restrooms are available inside the Lelia Patterson Center and outdoors at the rear of the Lelia Patterson Center (close to the back parking lot/track). Face coverings are required indoors.

It is up to you to know the course and follow the course markings and signs along the route. We will have colored markings on the roads and have tall directional signs and yard signs with arrows on the courses. FOLLOW THE ROUTE ARROW STICKERS ON THE GROUND!
5k: We will have pink route arrows on the roads and pink spray paint.
10k: We have yellow route arrows on the roads and yellow spray paint.
VERY IMPORTANT!
Howard Gap & Hutch Mountain Roads: At the course split (at .5 miles) the YELLOW arrow on the ground will lead 10k runners straight up Howard Gap Road. The Pink arrows on the ground will lead the 5k runners to the RIGHT on Hutch Mountain Road.
10K Course Details
Start at the Lelia Patterson Center, 10k runners take RIGHT onto Howard Gap Rd. Runners will continue on Howard Gap past Hutch Mountain Rd and past Patty’s Chapel Rd and go all the way to Jackson Rd. They will turn right on Jackson Rd and run to Patty’s Chapel Rd. They will then turn right onto Patty’s Chapel Rd and run to Howard Gap Rd. They will turn left at Howard Gap Rd back toward Hutch Mountain Rd. They will turn left onto Hutch Mountain Rd and make a U-turn on Hutch Mountain Rd and run to the finish line at the LPC. (10k runners watch for U turn signs on Hutch Mountain Road.)
5K Course Details
Runners will start at the Lelia Patterson Center, several minutes behind the 10k runners. 5k runners will turn right onto Howard Gap road and then a RIGHT at Hutch Mountain Rd, continue on Hutch Mountain Rd to approximately Pitman Rd, where they will make a U-turn and proceed to the finish line at the LPC.
1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Course Details
Begins at the Start line beside LPC, loops around by Fletcher Academy, follows path to track, run lap around track and around ball field (2x) and then return to path to Lelia Patterson Center and the Finish Line.

Water Stations
We are excited to have two water stations on the course. Green Moose Fuel will be leading the water station on Hutch Mountain Road that will be utilized by both the 5k and 10k runners (2x). There will be water at this station plus ‘moose fuel.’ The other water station is on the 10k course at approximately mile 2 1/2 and will be led by Fleet Feet Asheville!

We are raising funds for the ABYSA scholarships for youth in our community. ABYSA scholarships give the gift of soccer to kids that wouldn’t be able to enjoy the game. You can make donations during registration or from our fundraising page.

Awards Ceremony
The awards ceremony will take place outside near the start/finish area at approximately 3:45 PM for the 5k and 4:00 PM for the 10k.
Prizes and Awards can also be picked up the week after the event at Fleet Feet Asheville or shipped for $10.

2nd place - $75
3rd place - $50.
Not a super speedy runner? Don’t fret we will also give out TWO cash prizes ($50 each) for random ‘in the pack’ 10k finishers. Must be present at the awards ceremony to accept your cash prize!
