Event News

On June 11, 2023, join us for the much anticipated return of the RAD Half Marathon & 10k in Asheville, NC. The races are both point-to-point, USATF certified and sanctioned and will be filled to the brim with runners from across the region. We anticipate another super FAST, fun and exhilarating race and a first-class, post-race party! We also have some new things up our sleeve for the second year event.

RAD Half Marathon and 10k

Probably one of the best put together races I have been to and I have been to a lot! The live music at the aid stations & DJ throughout the course was a fantastic touch! Exceeded Expectations!

quote by 2022 RAD Runner - Stefanie Rubley

Runners will run through the historic Asheville Downtown city, downhill to the Greenway, and along the French Broad River to the River Arts District (RAD).  These races give “over the river and through the woods” a whole new meaning as they cross over the river, hit the mostly flat Greenway in the River Arts District, and run through three of Asheville’s beautiful parks. Each park will have live music and entertainment for the runners to enjoy along the way. It’s a course for new PRs, without a doubt! Runners return to the River Arts District for a festive finish line, complete with a unique finisher medal, local glass prizes and awards made in RAD, a complimentary beer at the Wedge at Foundation for runners and of course live music!

NEW FOR 2023!

- ‘Brooks’ dri-fit race shirts - now available in men’s and women’s sizes

- A super cool finisher medal that will blow your mind!

- Mega prize money for the 10k race! We have upped the ante and increased the cash winnings!  And also added a new ‘beat the course record’ cash prize for overall male & female winners.

- NEW RAD ART Mart & pre-race Packet Pickup event! A boutique-style event the day prior to race day - featuring local artists selling their art, race partners and a spot to pick up your race number and goodies.

- Convenient and cozy lodging available at the brand new Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins located on the race course in the River Arts District.

- More exciting new race happenings coming… so stay tuned in!

The race will continue to support the Asheville Humane Society and their efforts to save and protect every animal in our community. It will also be the third race in the Appalachian Trilogy race series.
