iDaph Events is proud to announce that online registration is now open for the 2022 Asheville Triathlon! The most popular sprint triathlon in Western North Carolina is back at Asheville Recreation Park in Asheville, North Carolina. This multi-sport swim, bike, run event is the only local triathlon in Asheville, and it has been a fan’s favorite for years. We’re happy to partner with the City of Asheville again this year to put on this awesome event. Every participant will receive a one-of-a-kind finisher medal as they cross the finish line after an exciting race.

Asheville Triathlon

Asheville Triathlon

The Asheville Triathlon consists of a 400 meter swim, a 12.5 mile bike ride and a 5K run course. These distances make this sprint triathlon great for every level of triathlete, from novice to elites. The Asheville Triathlon will start and finish at the Asheville Rec Park Pool, using the surrounding paths and roads for the running and biking portions.

Participants agree that the challenge of completing this event is well worth the effort!

WNC Nature Center Animals

Giving back to our community zoo

This year, we’ll be taking donations on behalf of the Friends of the WNC Nature Center, which provides resources to support animal habitats, vet care, food and enrichment, education programs, and conservation efforts. Donations can also be made to our iDream Athletes Foundation, which will help local athletes hurdle cost-barriers for competing in endurance events.

Race Information:

The event starts with a 400-meter outdoor swim in the Asheville Rec Park pool. After the 400-meter swim, participants will exit the pool and quickly enter the transition area to prep for the bike stage. The 11.6-mile bike course will feature some rolling and challenging hills and some flat roads, turning into rolling landscape before returning to the Rec Park for a very fast run. (The roads for this ride will be open to the public so all participants are urged to be alert to traffic). The run is an out and back style course and is one of the flattest 5ks you’ll find in the area. Runners had better work on their running form, even if for no other reason than to look spectacular in race photos as they blaze through the finish line claiming new PRs!
