Are you ready to run wild with the WNC Nature Center?! Join us for the 2nd Annual Running of the Goats 5k and Nature Walk to support the animals you love! This event has the option of running in the 5k through the nature center and around the park, or enjoying the nature walk with all the animals before the park opens to the public. The best part? Every entry includes a day-pass to come back and enjoy the WNC Nature Center at a later date!
Don’t miss the 2nd Annual Ugly Sweater Run 5K & 10K at the Riveter in Mills River! Ugly Sweaters and holiday cheer are strongly encouraged! Join iDaph Events for a festive (and socially distanced) 5K and 10K hosted by the Riveter, the nation’s premier indoor climbing gym, bike park, and wellness arena. You’ll start at the Riveter and run along scenic farm roads, and return to the Riveter for even more merriment. There’ll be delicious food, drinks and refreshments (including adult beverages and coffee), and plenty of activities including a premier bike park and a climbing wall. Chill out after the race and unwind at a socially-distanced flow, indoor yoga class at the the Riveter’s yoga studio.
The 4th Annual Turkey Trot returns on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25th. Come join us for this fun and festive 5K on one of the biggest running holidays of the year. Thanksgiving is the largest running holiday with families all over the country! Turkey Trots are a great way to start the day. You’ll share miles and smiles with your family and friends as part of this fun, annual tradition.

Note: All runners must be parked by 8:30am on Thanksgiving Day!
Please wear your race number on the FRONT of your shirt/pants/jacket. Do not BEND, CRUMBLE your bib numbers. We must be able to see the number throughout the race and when you cross the finish line. Race numbers that are worn under jackets or clothing may not pick-up on the timing system when you cross the finish line.

The US Department of Veterans Affairs states that more than 6,000 Veterans die by suicide each year, and other statistics show that twice as many First Responders die by suicide than in the line of duty. By gathering together Sheep Dogs who have suffered similar traumas & experiences, SDIA has found that the camaraderie and peer support they receive fosters healing and is critical to their overall well-being. When Sheep Dogs #GetOffTheCouch™, their attitude, motivation and perspective are drastically improved. Your generous support allows SDIA to ENGAGE, ASSIST & EMPOWER our nation’s heroes to Get Off The Couch™ with their brothers & sisters, which prevents suicides in our Veteran and First Responder communities

The race course for the South Asheville Turkey Trot takes place in Biltmore Park Town Square, Asheville, North Carolina . The course has one water stop (utilized 2x) supported by Green Moose Fuel at approx. mile 1.5 and mile 2.5.

When you arrive, head over to the start/finish area and grab a cup of hot cocoa or coffee from Barebones Brewhaus coffee cart. Bring some cash!
Race Start Times: 9am-9:15am - rolling start
Rolling wave start: We encourage competitive runners, in contention to win overall and in your age group to start promptly at 9am. Runners have the ability to show up and run anytime between 9-9:15am. This will allow runners to have a stress-free race experience from start to finish. Runners will not be able to start the race after 9:15am due to safety reasons.
Please Note: The time limit for the course is 10:30am.
There are porta-johns with hand-washing stations near the finish line. See Map.
After you cross the finish line, pick up your finisher medal, a water from Beverly-Hanks and a snack from Fresh Market. Complimentary massages by Yoga and Massage will be in the packet pickup shop after the race!
