Rides in the Carolinas

Rides in the Carolinas

We are so excited to be a part of several rides in the Carolinas in 2019!

Start your year off with the Coastal Cyclists Spring Century:

Join us on April 13th for the Coastal Cyclists Spring Century! This classic, annual, Lowcountry bicycle ride, formerly known as “The After the Bridge Run Ride”, winds through beautiful Francis Marion National Forest. The event raises money for the support of bicycle advocacy in the Lowcountry and around the state! The ride features beautiful scenery, quiet backcountry roads, multiple well stocked rest stops, post ride meal and entertainment.

Kick your summer off with the NC Outward Bound School Collier Lilly Ride:

Since 2003 thousands of riders have participated in the Collier Lilly Ride, an annual recreational bike ride honoring the memory of Collier Cobb Lilly, a graduate of the North Carolina Outward Bound School (NCOBS). 2015 marked the ride’s move from the “flat country” surrounding Davidson, NC to the rugged mountains around Asheville, where NCOBS is based. The proceeds from this year’s event will fund scholarships for Western North Carolina youth to attend a life-changing NCOBS wilderness course. North Carolina Outward Bound School is the leading provider of experiential and outdoor education programs for youth and adults. Outward Bound has helped people discover strength of character, an ability to lead, and desire to serve.

Continue your summer fun with the WNC Flyer:

The 16th annual Hunter Subaru WNC Flyer (formerly called Fletcher Flyer) will be held in the “Cycling Capital of the South”, Brevard, NC. The start/finish will be at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard, NC. What better way to spend the day than with a Bike Ride, Bluegrass, BBQ and a complimentary first Brew!

Riders will have their choice of a full century, metric century, half century, and half metric rides which wind through the valleys south of Asheville, NC. Although it is the least hilly ride in Western North Carolina, it has plenty of rolling hills to keep all riders interested. There is beautiful mountain scenery without the long mountain climbs. The Flyer is a ride for everyone from first time riders to experience riders.

End your summer with the Tour d’Apple!

The Tour d’Apple is an exciting ride through Western North Carolina’s apple orchards, waterfalls, and mountains to benefit the charitable projects of the Hendersonville Four Seasons Rotary Club. It includes a Century (100 miles), a metric-century (100km), as well as 45 and 25mi options.

The ride takes place on Labor Day, and features an exciting course (no matter which length you choose) complete with plenty of rest stops.
