Ride Details for 2021:
The 17th annual Hunter Subaru WNC Flyer will be held in Western North Carolina. The start/finish will be at Bold Rock, Mills River, NC. What better way to spend the day than with a Bike Ride, BBQ a Brew!
Riders will have their choice of a century, metric, half century, and half metric rides which wind through the valleys south of Asheville, NC. Although it is the least hilly ride in Western North Carolina, it has plenty of rolling hills to keep all riders interested. There is beautiful mountain scenery without the long mountain climbs. The Flyer is a ride for everyone from first time riders to experience riders.
This is a fully supported ride with well-stocked rest stops and an after ride party. The Bold Rock Food truck will have lots of yummy BBQ (or Veggie lunch options) and beer for purchase after the ride.

In 2019, North Carolina Outward Bound School (NCOBS) is hosting a brand new twelve mile fun ride and the annual half century bike ride in honor of Collier Lilly. The NCOBS Collier Lilly 12 Mile Ride, begins at the Wedge at Foundation, and flows primarily along the French Broad River. The route follows Amboy Road to Carrier Park and Hominy Park on various paved roads and greenways and off-road packed dirt greenways and side-roads. This route is for the casual cyclist that enjoys riding bikes for the joyful experience and is comfortable riding on paved and off-road dirt packed surfaces.

Ride Weekend Registration – If the event has NOT sold out before Ride Day, your friends and family can still register in person on Saturday or on Sunday. As soon as we have reached 1,000 participants we will not be able to accept any more registrations.
Thinking about changing your ride distance? This can be done at Packet Pick Up. Please pick up your Bib and make your way to the Ride Questions and Registration Table where we can assist you with making this switch.
Purchase your raffle tickets at packet pickup and registration. PARKING 6:30 AM – 7:45 AM: Parking available on Industrial Blvd. near Oskar Blues (until lots full or at 7:45am, whichever comes first)
- Transylvania County Parks and Recreation Parking Lot at 1078 Ecusta Road (accessible to OB via Bike Path/Greenway)
- Davidson River School – 970 Ecusta Rd. (accessible to OB via Bike Path/Greenway)
- Pisgah Forest Elementary – 1076 Ecusta Rd.(accessible to OB via Bike Path/Greenway)
- Habitat ReStore – 692 Ecusta Road (park in Habitat lot only)
Auxiliary parking lots have portajons or restrooms available.
6:30 AM – 9:00 AM: *NEW for 2017!* Finisher Bag Tent open for riders to drop personal items. Items must be in a securely, closed bag with rider bib number attached.
6:30 AM – 7:45 AM: Rider Drop Off Zone Open
- Kiss & Ride drop off point located at TVS (Transylvania Vocational Services, Inc.), 11 Mountain Industrial Drive, Brevard, NC 28712, This is at the beginning of the road to the brewery. Use this option if someone is dropping you off for the ride and you want to avoid the traffic going into the brewery. Rider Drop Off Zone CLOSED promptly at 7:45am.
7:45 AM: Oskar Blues, Industrial Blvd. Road and Parking Lots – CLOSED to traffic – Auxiliary lots should be used for parking.
