Jump Off Rock Half Marathon & 10K

Jump Off Rock Half Marathon & 10K

An endurance running event like none other, the third annual Jump Off Rock Half Marathon presented by Hunter Subaru, will be one of the fastest half marathon races in the south and will run “downhill to downtown.”

The point-to-point, half marathon begins at Jump off Rock, a national landmark and the Town of Laurel Park’s highest peak, and finishes in the heart of downtown Hendersonville on Main Street. This gently downhill and scenic 13.1 mile course is not only fast, it also has breathtaking views. Half Marathoners will wind their way downhill through the beautiful back-roads of Laurel Park then on historic city streets and around Hendersonville’s Osceola Lake before heading into downtown Hendersonville. The point-to-point race and the scenic course are sure to bring PRs and mountain memories to last a lifetime.

10k runners will start their race at the base of the Town of Laurel Park at the YMCA of Hendersonville. They will join in on the half marathon route at about the half-way point with half marathoners. The 10k route is moderately flat with a couple gentle rollers. The 10k runners will run on historic city streets, around the Hendersonville’s Osceola Lake and back to downtown Hendersonville.

Both races will finish at the same location in Historic Downtown Hendersonville on Main Street.

LUNG BUSTER TIME TRIAL SERIES:

The Lung Buster Time Trial Series is a seven-part competitive time trial racing series of cycling events in Western North Carolina held with the intent of providing all participants a professional racer experience, no matter how fast you are. All levels and abilities of cyclists are invited to participate! Our unique mix of different racing environments allows riders of different strengths and focuses to level the playing field amongst competitors. Also, having seven separate events means that one poor showing won’t decimate your opportunity to do well in the series as a whole. So as to not leave out any cyclist: whether you’re an elite time trialist or a recreational rider on your road bike wanting to prove your merit in our Merckx/Standard Road Bike division we provide both categories and score separately.

**New to 2017 is the addition of Team Time Trials for the flat routes (Riverside/Asheville + Etowah TTs). Teams can consist of 2 to 4 participants. You may participate in individual and Team TT in the same day.** For more info and categories for prizes and awards visit idaph.net.
