All proceeds from the 5k race support the Cory David Spaugh Sport Management Association Scholarship Fund.

Admission to the festival is free!

Trick or Trail & Spooky Sprint

REGISTRATION TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus)

The Hunter Subaru Trick or Trail 5k & 1 Mile Spooky Sprint lets runners experience the beauty of DuPont State Forest in a unique nighttime racing format.

The only race of its kind in the region, participants will strap on headlamps and light up the night as they duke it out in the dusk. The twists and turns of DuPont’s famous trail system will dare them to push forward, not knowing what bogies and specters might lurk around each corner! The One Mile Spooky Sprint will be Halloween themed, and a great change for kids and kids-at-heart to break in their costumes a day early, without stressing about time limits, as this event is untimed!

Tour D’Apple

Tour D’Apple

The Tour d’Apple is an exciting ride through Western North Carolina’s apple orchards, waterfalls, and mountains to benefit the charitable projects of the Hendersonville Four Seasons Rotary Club. It includes a Century (100 miles), a metric-century (100km), as well as 45 and 25 mile options.

The ride takes place on Labor Day, and features an exciting course (no matter which length you choose) complete with plenty of rest stops.

LPC Throwback Triathlon & Kid’s Splash n’ Dash

The 6th Annual LPC Throwback Triathlon is the perfect event in which to challenge one’s self, regardless of competition experience or athletic prowess. It features a 200 yard pool swim, a 17.5 mile bike on quiet country roads, and a rolling 5k run with an on-track finale in which to summon your mighty kick to the tape!

Both individuals and relay teams are encouraged to join in, and you don’t have to be a three-sport athlete to participate. In the LPC Triathlon Team Competition, you can opt for the sport of your choosing, and just swim, bike, or run as part of a team. While LPC events are timed, and your results will be made available after the event, we emphasize participation over competition. The Kid’s Splash N’ Dash courses mean even budding athletes can participate in the throwback thrills without adults towering overhead!

The LPC Kid’s Splash N’ Dash, is designed to promote an active, healthy lifestyle for the youth in the Carolinas and to introduce them to multi-sport events. This event will consist of various distances in the sport of aquathlon (swim/run) for three divisions: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Mad Mountain Mud Run

Our objectives are clear (unlike mud): create a fun and challenging event to draw mud-loving runners of all abilities to our area. We have a range of competitive levels in our race, so you choose if you are “in it to win it” or happy to laugh & crawl your way through our approximately 3 mile obstacle course. Our course will take you through trails and trees, up hills (and down too), in water, and over many obstacles. And yes, there will be mud!

Best of all, 100% of the proceeds from this awesome event go to the non-profit children’s museum: Hands On! Children’s Museum. Hands On! provides unique and creative educational exhibits and activities for children and is located on Main Street in Hendersonville, N.C.

Prizes will be given out to the fastest individual and the fastest teams (male, female & co-ed) along with team costume contests and team name. And, since Hands On! is the place where learning comes into play, we will have some challenging brain games along the course. An individual or team can may win a prize for correctly answering these challenges.

Family members, friends and other people not interested in competing in the race challenge are invited to the site for the day to cheer on their muddy loved ones and enjoy a festival atmosphere with food, beverages, live music, and some fun challenges of their own
