RAD HALF MARATHON & 10K
Asheville, North Carolina
June 8, 2025
A Race to Rebuild
Hurricane Helene hit hard—but the River Arts District is still here, still vibrant, and still full of heart. This year’s RAD Half Marathon & 10K isn’t just about running—it’s about rallying behind a community in recovery. We’ve teamed up with local organizations and partners to turn every mile into momentum for rebuilding. Here’s how:

We’ve partnered with the River Arts District Artists Foundation to help reignite the area’s vibrant creative energy. This includes donating a portion of registration fees and featuring local artists in the shakeout run, pre-race expo, post-race party, and along the course.

We’ve partnered with Asheville’s own Recover Brands to bring you a race shirt you can feel good about. Each one is made from recycled materials and designed to be crazy soft—because doing good should feel good, too.

Hi-Wire Brewing lost their RAD Beer Garden and Distribution Center in the flood—but they didn’t lose their spirit. They are working hard to reopen and will be ready to host the post-race party with a special RAD Half Lager. Raise a glass with us and show some love to an Asheville favorite!

This race supports Open Hearts Art Center, a local nonprofit empowering adults with varying abilities through the arts. You can purchase a handcrafted, commemorative paper flower bouquet during registration—all proceeds go directly to their incredible programs.

The Course
Even after the storm, the spirit of the RAD lives on—and so does the course! Thanks to the incredible support from the City of Asheville, we’re excited to bring you a safe, fast, and USATF Certified route. The city knows how much this event means to our running community and has welcomed us back with open arms.
This year’s course features a net elevation loss, taking you from the heart of Downtown Asheville straight into the River Arts District. You’ll finish right in the heart of RAD, where an epic post-race party at Hi-Wire Brewing is waiting to celebrate your finish—and the comeback of a community.

Ready to go from 5K to 10K with confidence?
Coach Jess — yeah, that Coach Jess who crushed her race and took 1st place at last year’s Rad 10K — is here to help you level up with her Rogue Runner 10K Beginner Training Plan. This 10-week program is perfect for newer runners, with 3 flexible runs per week, strength tips, hydration/nutrition guidance, and direct email support from Jess herself. Add it during race registration or grab it from the Race Store — Coach Jess will be in touch to get you started!
