Ready, Set…WOOF! Experience the inaugural event of the summer and join us at Patton Park for a truly unique experience on Friday, June 16th for the Inaugural Bark & Bolt presented by Hunter Subaru in Hendersonville, NC!
This family and pup-friendly event will feature the Bark & Bolt 5k, One Mile, and 100 meter Paw Pursuit. The race will be followed by a Top Dog Contest and a Bark in the Park Dog Fair with local pet friendly vendors.
We invite participants of all fitness levels to join us: whether you’re an avid runner looking to have your pup tag along with you or someone just looking for an enjoyable walk, our event is sure to provide something for everyone. Not only will it give you the chance to explore Hendersonville’s beautiful parks and greenways with your pet but also gives you the opportunity to support the Blue Ridge Humane Society and be part of a cause that helps rescue pups find loving homes.

Courses
5k:
The Bark & Bolt 5k starting and finishing at Patton Park in Hendersonville, NC is the paw-fect race for you and your pup! This course is made up of a flat, fast out and back section along the beautiful Oklawaha Greenway. It’s all on a paved surface, so no need to worry about muddy paws! Don’t be fooled though - one short, stinker of a hill will get you back to the finish line, so make sure you and your four-legged friend are ready for the challenge. With great views and plenty of spectator friendly spots along the way, this race will be ruff to resist! So grab your pup and join us - you won’t be barking up the wrong tree with this one!

One Mile:
The Bark & Bolt One Mile course is a perfect way to get your pup and your feet moving! Starting at Patton Park in Hendersonville, NC you can enjoy a relaxing run along the Oklawaha Greenway, which has a paved surface that will keep your pup’s paws comfy throughout. A single stinker hill awaits you on the way back to the finish line, but don’t worry - it’s the only one on the route. The rest of the way is flat and fast, making this course a treat for runners (and their furry teammates) of all ages and abilities. So leash up those tail-wagging wonders and get ready to bark and bolt through this fun one-mile adventure!

Paw Pursuit:
The Paw Pursuit 100 Meter Dash is the ultimate test of canine athleticism and speed! This competition is only for the most well-behaved pups, so it’s time to see who is Top Dog. Dogs will be divided into three weight classes: Lightweight, Middleweight, and Heavyweight.
This Paw Pursuit 100 Meter Dash promises lots of fur-ocious fun for pet owners looking to find out just who is Top Dog!
Let’s see which pup has what it takes to come out on top as the most paw-some pup in town! So, get excited and get your pup ready to run!
Dog owners are encouraged to run alongside their pup!

Bark in the Park Dog Fair
We’re ecstatic to be hosting the Bark in the Park Dog Fair alongside the Bark & Bolt event, and you are woofingly welcome to join us! The fair will be located in the field at Patton Park, near the Start/Finish Line and will run from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
With so many pup-sitively pet-friendly vendors, this is sure to be a tail-wagging event for all. If your business or organization is interested in becoming a pawtner of this event, please contact us at support@idaph.net.

Thursday, June 15th: 11:00am - 2:00pm at Hunter Subaru (220 Hunter Airport Dr, Fletcher, NC 28732.)
Friday, June 16th: 4:45 - 6:30pm at Patton Park (1730 Asheville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC 28792), under the iDaph Tent, adjacent to the Bark in the Park Dog Fair near the Start/Finish line. Look for the signs and banners.

All human finishers will receive a finisher ‘dog tag’ at the finish line!

AWARDS CEREMONY
The awards ceremony will take place at approximately 7:45PM.
Prizes and Awards can also be picked up the week after the event at Fleet Feet Asheville or shipped for $10.

Our Work
At our Adoption Center, we assess behavior and treat conditions as necessary with all animals under our care. Prior to adoption, each animal is provided with all the appropriate vaccinations, a microchip, dewormed, and are spayed or neutered. In addition, each pet goes home with a 30-day free health insurance plan. We are committed to finding lifelong homes for every pet. Screening and counseling of potential families contribute to our successful adoptions.
Rules for Safety
These guidelines MUST be followed to ensure the safety of all participants and their furry friends.
- Please only bring dog-friendly pets. This event is for well-behaved humans and dogs only! If your Fido is not friendly please leave him/her at home.
- Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Please refrain from bringing retractable leashes as they are a tripping hazard.
- Dog Owners are 100% liable for the actions of their dogs while attending the event and in the designated areas of the start/finish area. Race officials have sole discretion to ask a participant to leave the event with their dog at any time. There will be no refunds in this case.
- All dogs should be up-to-date on vaccines including the rabies vaccine.
- Please bring your own poop bags and clean up after pets.
- We will provide some dog bowls and dog swimming pools for drinking/wading. However, we suggest you bring your own dog bowls or purchase one from a vendor at the event.
Policies
Did you register to participate in-person but can’t make it on race day? You don’t have to miss out! You can transfer your registration to the virtual event at any point before the start of the race. In the virtual event, you’ll run anywhere you like, post your results, and have your swag mailed to you after the event.
TRANSFERS: All participants can transfer into the virtual version of their event up until the start of the event. Email support@idaph.net to request the transfer. There will be no refunds for the price difference between events. Transfers during the week of the event will cost $10 (starting Monday, June 12th).
Transfers between participants are prohibited. Participants who run with another runner’s bib will be automatically DQd and bandits will be banned from future iDaph events.
REFUNDS: We have a small, but mighty team that is working on all the details to produce this event safely for you and everyone in our community in attendance. We are incurring the expenses for production well before the day of the event, and we will not be able to provide a refund to you should you want to cancel your registration, or if the event itself has to be cancelled due to a change in the status of the pandemic, weather, an act of god, or other unforeseen circumstance.
DEFERRALS: We do not allow deferrals from race to race. If you’re unable to make it on race day, you may switch to the virtual option.
CANCELLATION: In the event of an unforeseen circumstance, such as an emergency, an act of god, not receiving approval of final event permits, or change in pandemic status resulting in the inability to have the in-person event, we reserve the right to cancel the event and automatically convert all in-person registrations to the virtual option. Should this occur, your swag will be mailed to you for free.
