Volunteer Information

5:45am-8:45am

V1 - Traffic Control // Mountain Industrial Blvd

You will assist with the main traffic control at the front of Oskar Blues. When the riders leave between 8-8:10am you will direct them off of Industrial Blvd onto Old HVL Road. See course markings/signage. They are going LEFT when they leave. You will be standing closer to Old HVL Road and assisting with car/vehicle traffic flow. You will also not let folks park at the church next door (on Helen Lane). Please check with Daphne on all your need to know info about police/Fire support/vendors coming in to OB/grass parking lot/etc.

No riders are allowed to park at or near Oskar Blues on Sunday, they all need to park at the Auxiliary lot. They are also not allowed to park in the TVS paved (the area you are at) or grass parking lots. If a rider comes to you to try to park, you will need to direct them to head back out onto the road to go to the Brevard Sports Complex and school to park. See maps below.

Volunteers/Vendors/Staff should have a parking pass on their vehicle dashboard allowing you an easy way to just let those folks go through. Not everyone will have these parking passes on dashboard.

(V2) PARKING: TVS (Entrance)

Parking Lot Attendant - (Sunday -5:45am-8:45) - Oskar Blues - TVS parking area **must start ride after 8:45am** No riders are allowed to park at or near Oskar Blues on Sunday, they all need parked at the Auxiliary lot. They are also not allowed to park in the TVS paved (the area you are at). (V3) PARKING: TVS (Grass) NO PARKING ALLOWED

Parking Lot Attendant - (Sunday -5:45am-8:45) - Oskar Blues - TVS grass parking area **must start ride after 8:45am** TVS: At the grass parking lot - as of right now no one is able to park here on race morning. If this changes, I will update you. You will direct cyclists to turn around and go park at the other parking lots at the Sports Complex, School, etc.

Stops any cars from coming to the start/finish area after the line is set up and assist at the intersection that leads to the employee/cut through parking area, shows sag where to stage, etc.

Bring a lawn chair.

V14 - Parking - Ecusta Road at main entrance to Pisgah Forest Elementary School - directing cars into lot- comunicate with the other volunteers in your lot to let them know when it is filled up. Put up LOT FULL sign when it is full so that folks go to other lots at the Brevard Sports Complex(when your lot is full please let P4 and P5 volunteers know so that they can stop sending folks back to you)

V18 - Parking - Auxiliary - P6 Ecusta Road and Davidson River School

None - you will stand between the Davidson River School and Pisgah Forest Elem School road that is on Ecusta Road and direct cars into the parking lot for the Pisgah Forest Elem School. There is no parking allowed at Davidson School.

V19 - Parking - Auxiliary - Inner road to P4 (when your lot is full please let the P5 volunteer know so that they can put the LOT full sign out. Please make sure that the lot P3 (gravel lot beside you) is also full too before you text P5 volunteer.

V40: Hebron Road + Finley Cove Road Intersection (Sunday - 9:35 -11:35am) - Century - Mile 40.2 - direct riders on Hebron to take a LEFT to stay on Hebron Rd**

Century - Mile 40.2 - riders are on Hebron and need to take a LEFT to stay on Hebron Road. (this is a change in the course from last year Finley Road)

The riders are coming up Hebron Road and instead of going straight up and over onto Finley Cove Road. The riders need to take a LEFT to stay on Hebron Road towards Laurel Park.

You may want to pick up your goodies and safety vest on Saturday from 1-3pm at Liberty Bikes in AVL instead of trying to get into Oskar Blues on ride morning to do this.

V41 - Walnut Hollow - Directional Support

Century: Mile 96 and Metric: 54 - Caution Steep Downhill at Walnut Hollow

The riders will be coming from E. Fork Road onto Walnut Hollow. They climb up the back side of Walnut Hollow. I would like for you to be at the top of Walnut Hollow before they decent down Walnut Hollow to go onto Island Ford Road. You are cautioning them of the steep downhill.

You may want to pick up your goodies and safety vest on Saturday from 1-3pm at Liberty Bikes in AVL instead of trying to get into Oskar Blues on ride morning to do this.

V44: Rest Stop Directional Support - RS2 (Sunday - 9:00am - 1:00pm) - Kanuga Conference Ctr - Assist riders coming up to rest stop and guide where to place bike, restrooms, nutrition, etc.
