Assist with check-in at packet pickup on computer.
(2nd post) 8:45am-11:30am
Move outside to the start/finish area and help pick costume contest winners with James + Ian. Help at the food tent and/or hand out medals, whichever spot needs the most help. Can go between each spot. Help with clean up.
THURSDAY: 6:30am-11:30AM (or earlier)
Location: Start // Finish area in Biltmore Park Town Square (across from Fleet Feet Asheville)
Assist with set up of the start/finish areas + pick out the costume contest winners (with Ian). The winners will need to be selected BEFORE the race. Ask Jen (Volunteer Coordinator) for the costume categories.
During the race you are a 'floater' and will be used on the course if there is a no show volunteer // And/or at the finish area with medals/food/restock water + help with clean up. Please check in with Jen at 8:30-8:45am to see if there are any no show volunteers so that you can fill in for them.
TUESDAY: 9:30am-12:30pm
Assist with unloading the truck/trailer at Biltmore Park Hilton. Come inside the lobby and turn right, walk down hallway to the meeting room and you will see us there.
THURSDAY: 6:30am-8:40AM (1st post)
Location: Start // Finish area in Biltmore Park Town Square (across from Fleet Feet Asheville)
Assist with set up of the start/finish areas + pick out the costume contest winners (with James). The winners will need to be selected BEFORE the race. Ask Jen (Volunteer Coordinator) for the costume categories.
2nd post -- 8:45am (arrival time) -- until approx 10:30am
Water Station
Interesection of Pinchot and Woodvine
- Drive, Jog or Ride Bike to this spot - park on side of HOLT LANE (it is a side street close to these roads)
- Time at station - must arrive at 8:30am to set up.

- Water Station will be utilized 2x! You will be busy!
- There will be safety vests in your water station buckets that you can put on while volunteering.
- We will deliver tables, water containers, cups, water/gatorade/trash cans on race morning.
- We HIGHLY suggest that you bring a portable speaker and play music at this water station so that it is lively and fun throughout the race.
You can also bring your own boombox/music // decorations // costumes// etc. We HIGHLY recommend wearing something fun or your non-profit/company logo’d branded items!
How do we set up and serve at our water station?
You will have a plastic bin that has some water station supplies in it. Look thru that when you arrive so you know what is in there.
Follow instructions on the easy Quick Guide for set-up and serving.
In case of Emergency - Dial 911, then call/text me to update. In an instance of a runner having a non-emergency injury or wanting to drop out of the race, please call or text me (828) 450-7514, so we can arrange pick-up.
If you have an AED, please bring with you to have at your water station.
Getting low on water? If you only have one blue water jug left… and there is still a lot of time left in the race, let us know so we can bring you more water! Please do not wait until you have run out of water to let us know that you need more water. It will take us time to get more to you!
Wrapping up and packing up: Please pick up trash - cups and wrappers within one mile radius of your water station. Dump out any leftover water and/or gatorade. Stack everything neatly together for our team to pick these up after the race.

Course Marshall 2b| Viburnum Lane and Olmsted (3 way intersection)
Direct runners on the course at this intersection, hold traffic/cars as needed. Return to race village after the last runners has gone by and help at finish line with medals.

Course Marshall V2 - Stamford and Shenck Parkway (have your car parked near you here so you can hop in and drive to next post) | re-route all traffic right before race starts/for parking starting at 8:50am and when race starts until the majority of the runners have all come thru - you don't need to wait for stragglers - you can leave for next post before 9:10am if it is pretty empty!

Woodvine and Columbine - (note when you leave your Stamford // Shenck Parkway post - you will want to drive the following way to get to your next post (to stay off the race route) - Go left on Schenck Pkwy and take first right on E. Schenck Crest Road, go past YMCA and take a left onto Columbine Road, Follow Columbine thru several intersections until you get to the Columbine/Woodvine intersection. Pull your car over// hop out and assist.
You are turning runners LEFT off of Woodvine onto Columbine... - you are pointing right and the runners are going to the left onto Columbine. Look at course markings on road and sign when you show up.

Pinchot and 1st Red Fox Circle Drive - You will see the runners twice here! Keep cheering them but remember your priority is to make sure that everyone turns LEFT at the first RED FOX ENTRANCE off of Pinchot.
